Its also not what I think of as a strictly "Goblins" list. By using a Goblin shell, you have access to much better creature options while still retaining the reach of burn. Sledder/Raider + all Goblins helps you fight Tendrils which is huge for this style of deck. War Marshal/Dragon Fodder give you virtual card advantage not normally found in Burn Range. The token producers along with Giantbaiting gives you a huge "Ooops, 8 to your face" factor as well. _________________

YrdBrd420, I have a goblin deck thats very simliar to your own and a burn range deck (based off of one of Boin's builds, with stuff i had laying around), neither deck feels like the other, even though both are mono red and use burn. Both decks play differently even though they basically want to do the same thing (finish off the opponent quickly). |

My newest take on the deck-
4 Goblin Bushwhacker
4 Goblin Sledder
4 Drooling Ogre
4 Mogg Raider
4 Mogg War Marshal
2 Goblin Cohort
2 Mogg Conscripts
4 Chain Lightning
4 Dragon Fodder
4 Giantbaiting
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Fireblast
15 Mountain
3 Teetering Peaks
--------------------------
side
4 Pyroblast
4 Sparksmith
1 Seismic Shudder
4 Flash Of defiance
2 Flaring Pain
Flash has been a brutal beating vs anything green or white Also never underestimate the value of 8 to the face t3
As has been pointed out the reason this is more burn range then goblins is because unlike goblins im not trying to overwhelm the board as much as im trying to win via my reach and people's preconceived notions of goblins so Both baiting and fireblast tend to hit them out of nowhere when they least expect it.

How has Drooling Ogre been working in place of Flunkies? Are enough artifacts played to make a difference? _________________

| to be honest the only time i've regretted having ogre down was when a MBC player got slick and sided in golems to steal him other then that i REALLY like the fact that the 3/3 HAS to be answered now rather then eh i'll just kill everything else and watch him chill. Infact when I play my MBCu deck flunkies has been the exact reason i've won on more then one occasion. |

Right on. Mayhaps its time for them to go into my maindeck as well. _________________

How well do 4 Fireblast work with flashing back Firebolt and/or kicking Burst Lightning?
Molten Rain seems a lil out of place maindeck.
From experience, Raiders are awesome. 3/3 for 3 manna thats turns into a 5/5 when your hand is empty, which it will be. _________________

I would think that Fireblast works just fine with those cards. I think if you're sac'ing 2 mountains before you've had a chance to get full value out of the above cards you are either:
1. You're going to die if you don't do it or need to remove some game breaking creature (Rush/Myr Enforcer)
or
2. You're not very good and maybe should switch decks.
I can't ever see sac'ing 2 mountains to bring my opponent down to 8 or 4 leaving myself with 1 to 3 lands. Obviously there are cases playing against counterspells them tapped out you with lethal on the table... yadda yadda yadda. |
