hi,
i'm back into magic, and started playing whit a bunch of experienced magic players to play ( peasant)
let me tell you i hope i found that format few years ago!!!!!!!!

down to business
the current meta is :
- affinity
- slivers
- elf's (token/ramp/pumps)
- dimir blue/black - guild in ravnica

i got completely crushed the first time around, whit my poor understanding of the meta, ( and my stack of old cards)

i did my homework and found out the decks i think i would like to form

- Faeries + Delver of Secrets (mono blue)
- Mono green stompy
- infect (either green/blue/black)
- mono black + aggro/discard/rat

this is the article I found those deck's in
http://puremtgo.com/articles/peasants-and-paupers-7

I just wanted to know what you guys think would be best against my meta

thanks !

Howdy I wrote the article so i hope I can help

A fair amount of the winning meta is Mono Black Control, Delver Blue, and Green Stompy,

we do not see a good deal from goblins but they are around.

Personally I love playing Delver this deck runs spellstutter sprite which is a hard counter against most of the aggro decks out there. it however is weak against Affinity.

Mono Black has the best removal and life gain and creatures, its main problem is it can be out tempo'ed before hitting the 6th land drop. However vampire nighthawk is such a strong card it really pushes MBC over the top into tier one state.

If you want the deck that has a main board that is great in the meta play the MBC

wow, thanks !!
Great articles by the way, really helped me gething started whit peasant

I have a confesion to make
I actualy bought all 3 decks haha

( mind you I had alot of the stapple cards already so .. all in all it really wasnt expensive )

knowing the meta i'm running against, would you change anything in those 3 decks
( green stompy )
( delver / fearies )
( mono black / discard )

... would you make place for cards like, or others ?

B B Hymn to Tourach http://magiccards.info/at/en/24.html
(already have those)
B I am also wondering why the deck's run's more Chittering Rats then
Ravenous Rats, when the decks run so many turn 3 drops
U Cloudfin Raptor http://magiccards.info/gtc/en/32.html
G Young Wolf http://magiccards.info/dka/en/134.html

I am glad to hear you like the articles Smile

well Delver faeries is a fun deck to play and recommend running 3 Faerie impostors thes 2/1 bouncers are just fierce

Hymn is hit or miss in early game it is a bomb in late game it sucks however against control it is nearly always good I would have atleast 2 in the Side board

Cloudfin raptor. no I would not add it if anything go for Frostburn wierds or just bears

young wolf I am not sure it is a good resilint beater that wares rancor well

as for the number of 3 drops and chitterings Chitterings denign your opponent a draw step and build more card advantage then ravenous do.

and the number of 3 drops is because of unearth it lets you grab a 3 drop back from your graveyard directly to play.

thank you for your last answer
it is pretty informing,
i ended up making
http://puremtgo.com/articles/peasants-and-paupers-8
vertion of green stompy
i really have no rant against the deck
my only .. question .. and i'm not sure if i can get a explication

is, why isnt the deck running 4x land grant
i havnt seen 1 single (strait foward) mono green deck that doesnt benefit from just removing 4 forest and adding 4 land grant
http://magiccards.info/query?q=land+grant&v=card&s=cname

other then that, i think i will just tweek the deck a little bit to match my ( meta )
like removing 1 gather courage, for a 4th hunger of the wolf pack (my meta is has alot of agro)

as far as the sideboard goes, i understand most of the sideboards option
exept the bonespliter, im not sure when you would want to put one in ..
in what match-up ?

thx again !

Revealing your hand can give away important information. It lets control see if you have pump/protection for your creatures. It gives all decks a much better picture of your clock (i.e. can delver safely attack with flyers and assume you won't steal a win with pump spells). Against delver, it lets them know how much low CC spells you have, so they know when they can save a spellstutter, or when they need a hard CS (or if they need that CoFs or can cycle it at the end of your turn). Furthermore, when decks know what pump you have, it allows them to take that into consideration in combat math (instead of having to guess).

In short games, land thinning makes a fairly small difference. If you're talking a 6 turn game, 5-6 draws aren't impacted that much by thinning your deck - the information you just gave away is probably more valuable.

Against other decks that play very long games (standard pauper control decks can basically go through their entire deck in mirrors) it makes a much larger difference.

thx alot for your reply guys, really informative, and after playing the deck against a few people, i can 100% agree, that landgrand would give to much information
there is a few games i won, leaving 1 card in my hands ( a forest). in order to scare my opponent of a possible pump spell, so he didn't block for a few turns.

on another note,
I decided to build ( UB trinket control ) the problem is, its a pauper deck Razz
its alrdy fun to play, but i really dont know what 5 uncommon to add in order to make the deck better.
here is the deck list
http://mtgostrat.com/2013/05/marcus-...inket-control/

those are the uncommon I had in mind
------ Creatures -------
gatekeeper of malakir
Augur of Bolas
Hypnotic Specter
Vampire Nighthawk
Shriekmaw - first contender right now i think
Baleful Strix - would be cool but way to expensive

------ sorceries / instant -------
Mask of the Mimic
Far // Away
Countersquall
Dimir Charm
Dimir Guildmage

------ enchant - aura -------
Animate Dead

lands --------
tainted isle
