I had an idea for the community to create a flyer with those pull-tab thingies at the bottom that say pdcmagic.com -- we could put them up at local hobbyshops and stores to spread the love.
I'm wondering if anyone has a flair for designing such a flyer. _________________

| I think this is a great idea! I'd be happy to help out with it. Any ideas on what info the main flier should contain other than this site's URL and the "/Join PDC for MTGO"? |

Maybe something like,
ALL-COMMONS MAGIC
at the top
and then
PAUPER in huge letters
and then..
more specific info underneath.
Maybe some clip-art or a large, easily-photocopied art from a common.
Mention the weekly free tourneys on MTGO and how Pauper can also be played at local stores or in casual games with friends.
Just throwing ideas out. _________________

Wow, that's quite amazing! The art is a nice touch!
That should get the ball MORE than rolling on this project!
After seeing that, some new ideas:
Have a single bold or double thin line border around the outside edges.
Somewhere on the poster, include "/join PDC" on MTGO
Mention we have
* strategies
* metagame analysis
* decklists
* Pauper ratings
Include the words 'COMPETITIVE' and 'FREE TOURNAMENTS' in some highlighted / bolded way.
The tabs could say some combo of:
-Play Pauper Magic!
-PDCMagic.com
-/join PDC on MTGO _________________

I liked ArcherDarks' Flyer, but I decided to make one to take more of an approach to educate and excite people about PDC, since I know that most people that play paper probably have no idea what Pauper even is.
(Sorry if it's not too good looking. I'm not too skilled with image editing.)
EDIT: Mentioned prizes and changed a sentence or two.

These look great, maybe we could put on there somewhere that even though the tournaments are free, we offer prizes for top participants? It may be appealing to some. _________________

I edited my first post to mention prizes and changed a few sentences. |

I still think /JOIN PDC needs to be on there.
Also, I love the side tabs, but everything looks just a tad busy and cluttered. People aren't going to look at this for more than 2 seconds. In my opinion, it should have huge simple words and that's it.
I think I've said my peace in the above posts, so that's about all I have to add.
Thanks for cranking these out, guys! _________________

Yea, I wasn't too sure how much stuff to throw in. I am just thinking that most players have no idea what Pauper even is, and I just want to make sure they know.
My goal was to throw as little information possible that would allow the reader to understand what Pauper is and be able to spark an interest in them.
I do think I can cut down, though.
Perhaps there can be multiple flyers? One with detailed information, then one with only few words, so that if people see one like ArcherDarks' in a shop it can maybe get them curious enough to read the detailed one(that would probably be someone near it.)
Just an idea. Whatever you like. |

As someone who has gone into a paper store a lot recently:
The biggest problem will be convincing people who don't play online at stores (as in, they are part of a community) to invest in another collection. No matter how cheap Pauper is (and it is cheap), convincing these people to sign up for MTGO might be the biggest obstacle in your way.

That's, I'm sure, 100% true. However, I think the flyer's mission isn't to convince people to sign up for MTGO. It's not even really about PDC. It's about the Pauper format in general. We need to stop thinking of this site as merely a PDC hub and think of it as Pauper Central on the Web...
Pauper is bigger than PDC now, whether we like it or not. We need to adapt. _________________

The I recommend not using the terms PDC anywhere on the advertisements. Pauper is far more accessible and more people know this term than know PDC.

Unfortunately, it's in our URL.
Why can't we have both? I really think people can handle it. I just want them to see the flyer, think, "All commons? Cool!" or "Pauper? Cool!" or "Oh, there's a website? Cool!" and grab a tab and visit our site.
If they register for the forums, that's great. If they download MTGO, even better. If they host a new event, we're set. But the only goal I had in mind for the flyer was to get a new clientele visiting our site. _________________
